ABOUT US

The club’s beginnings started at the Westhide Estate east of Hereford. It was owned by Mrs Kit Fraser who kept and trained Golden Retrievers. Mrs Fraser invited friends with similar interests to join her training sessions at Westhide.

After Mrs Fraser died some of her friends extended the group and formed a committee and named the club Wye Valley Retriever Club. In 2002 the club registered with the Kennel Club and have subsequently obtained Field Trial status with Novice initially, and recently Open.

The club still trains at Westhide during the summer.
